Honestly she's one of my favorites too, but for different reasons. She's the only one who really moves the plot forward in the manga. The manga is in such a shit state rn. Kazuya isn't even the worst character anymore 🤦🏾‍♂️

Mami has been my favorite since she shut Kazuya down in public in season 1.

There is an insta page with over like 88k followers who is openly admitting that Mami is the best girl in his opinion with absolutely no reason.

Probably were manga readers who actually read some of the details about her and even the comment when she she loses to the stalker who actively makes a statement about her being in love with him but she'll never get him back. I'm not sure past that as I stopped reading after the film arc and things reverting to the same old distancing troupe they did for like 250 chapters. Even after a serious moment for them they were back to square 1. Anyways maybe Mami's character got more developed after it. Kazuya's did in the film arc but ya it's momentary. As after that arc it goes back to 0.

Well. She's the only character that tries to push the story forward (for better or for worse) while the other characters were busying resetting their progress. So, in a sense, yes, she's the best character in this story (except for the grandmothers).

I kind of dropped the manga a long time ago. They ended up with like over a 100 more chapters after this of his issues with his stalker. Then eventually an actual serious part comes around. Her grandmother doesn't have much time to live and he wants to support her becoming an actress by making a film. Everyone ends up supporting it including his stalker. After the serious arc and things pass they're back to being as they always are with her being the rent a girlfriend. The worst part is another girl also likes him that he occasionally helps on test dates who is really nice and actually likes him. Though he is completely oblivious of. Also his original girlfriend might seem mean but she's just another girl who actually likes him. She's essentially the type who dated multiple people for a short time and left them never taking a serious relationship. As for him she's jealous and actually does like him. Obviously she has been trying to bully girls close to him and mad that he was a guy that lost interest in her. She's no match for his stalker though. lol.

She’s actually my favorite character now. She makes the series a lot more spicy. Kazuya has devolved into a pure simp now and that’s just not a fun dynamic to watch. Chizuhara/Kazuya’s relationship in season 1 was a lot more interesting because they secretly admired each other whilst being at each others’ throats. Now that the dynamic has shifted with Kazuya being a pure simp, he doesn’t even seem like a main character anymore. He literally just seems like a one-note shallow plot device.
